Now that you’ve got your company structure set up on the Upskill People Learning Platform, it’s time to think about your workforce. You might be thinking, “Wow, there are a lot of courses here, will I have to assign them all to my learners one by one? Who has time for that?!”

No one, that’s who. That’s why we’ve made a way to group the courses together, so they can be assigned to lots of people in one go!

From Courses … select Assign Courses

A Learning Profile is simply a list of courses. Begin by expanding the Learning Profile List and checking which lists have already been created. Checking what you already have will ensure you don’t make the same learning profiles twice, which could clutter up your searches later. Plus, it saves you precious time when you don’t have to create a new profile, as one already exists and just needs editing! Top tip: use sensible names that describe the reason why you would assign this list of courses to someone. It might not necessarily be directly related to a job description, and you really don’t want the hassle of maintaining one learning profile per job type!

Using the dropdown tab at the top of the list you can see more on a single page, or use Next to move between pages.

However, if you need to create a new Learning Profile, begin by selecting Add Learning Profile:

You will then give two descriptions of this new profile: the Learning Profile Description and the Alternative Learning Profile Description. These two descriptions look and sound the same, right? That’s because they are basically the same! You don’t need to worry too much about this, you can just copy and paste the same description into both boxes.

After you’ve done this, you can ignore the User Profile Default tick box, and then use the Assign Job Types table to join the job type you’re working on to its relevant learning profile, saving you so much time going forward.

Select Save to create your shiny new learning profile! As time goes by, you can update these profiles using one of these two methods:

Using Assign Learning Profiles to Course is perfect for just one course, but it can be quite a lengthy process if there are many to go through.

You can use Assign Courses to Learning Profile to shorten the time dramatically and assign a new course to all of your learners under that learning profile.

And that’s it! You’re now a master of assigning your learners new courses with just a few simple clicks, leaving you to focus on your business and not your admin!

So, you’ve got your company and your courses together. There’s just one more thing to sort out now - the lucky souls who’ll be taking those courses! After you learn to manage your learners, you’ll have well and truly begun your journey with the Upskill People Learning Platform, so let’s get started, shall we?
