Here we can see that the Mandatory Fire Safety Essentials course needs to be completed. It’s a great idea to find out a little bit about the course before you start:

You will notice that the course doesn’t focus solely on the legal aspects of fire safety and its prevention. Upskill People have also included how to manage and recognise fatigue. If you have knowledge of fatigue and its effects, then you have the skills to do something about it, and this could prevent a fire.

Select Continue to launch the course:

The course starts at the beginning (where else?), where you’ll see the course banner at the top, your My progress bar to the right, and the content will scroll down from here.

There will often be a quiz midway to check how much you have learned. This is not tracked but will show the learner what they understand from the course thus far. Make sure you read all of the instructions before you start, it’ll save you time later:

Work your way through all of the questions, some have just one answer and others multiple answers. The quiz will keep a tally of how many you’ve answered and you’ll need to answer all questions before submitting your answers:

There is an option to Retake or move on (just press Done) after the quiz.

As well as learning the Fire Safety Essentials, there are important life skills outlined to support you:

Each of these can be opened as a PDF to read now or printed to read later. You can Continue without reading them.
