Charlotte spots the email: ‘Your team's learning is about to get easier, everywhere.’ She clicks, grins, and laughs out loud. This email came with an upgrade to the shiny new Courses Menu - it’s so clear, it’ll make learning a breeze. She can’t wait to tell her team - they’re going to love it!

Engaged teams for Charlotte. Results that shine for Tony.

Why it’s useful
With your learning platform, finding the right course is quick and straightforward. With less “page-turning” and a more inclusive free-flowing approach with varying-coloured backgrounds that help neuro-diverse people get the best from their learning experience; you can focus on what matters, finish it fast, and your business benefits from your successes.

Simple, smooth, and supportive.

Here’s a quick walk-through of the Courses menu and how you can quickly navigate through all of the options that help you create and assign the right content, to the right people, at the right time - and help them stay on top of your generic content and your own latest releases!

From your dashboard pick Courses:

There are a couple of things to note here:

  1. Picking Courses from the top menu enables you to navigate to where you need to be - the options available to you when managing your learning content are grouped together intelligently.

  2. Picking Overview takes you straight to the Courses page and defaults to Library and All courses, where you’ll see a list of all of the content that is available to you on this learning platform…

Here’s what the different options mean:

  • All courses - it’s everything that’s on your learning platform. This includes all the content that’s been pre-installed for you or what you’ve created and/or uploaded yourself.

  • Licensed - Upskill People have an extensive range of high quality, cost-effective, interactive content, like the Managing People series. These courses will all appear here.

  • Imported – Sometimes you’ll have access to other courses that have been created in Scorm 1.2 format (the “1.2” bit is important!). When you import a Scorm 1.2 courses it’ll appear here.

  • Created by [the name of your platform] – Great! You’ve got access to Easy Content Builder (ECB) so you can build and deploy your own content really quickly. All of your ECB courses including online, offline and those being worked on can be seen quickly when you pick this option.

  • Drafts - These are just the courses you are working on right now.

  • Mandatory - Courses are either Mandatory or they aren’t. This filter will show you the mandatory courses all grouped together so you can quickly see which ones you should be focussing on: are they up to date? Are they assigned to the right people and are they completing them on time? This works hand in hand with our email digests where everyone receives a weekly email to remind them of the courses they, and their teams, need to complete ASAP.

  • Offline - Created using ECB, offline courses help you get a bigger view of your learning programmes in your business, like classroom courses, events or key processes and tasks that need to be monitored. They won’t launch or track, but they can be set as Mandatory and you can mark them as completed, which means you can report on them.

Let’s look at the other library options that are available to you:

The most prominent is + Create Course, this is where you can create your own content from scratch using Easy Content Builder - more on that here.

Import – use this to upload a Scorm 1.2 module.

On the opposite site of the screen we have a selection of filters to help you get to the content you’re looking for:

  • Status - it defaults to just your Active courses, so change this filter to see only your Inactive content or All of it.

  • Course Type - this handy guide explains this particular way of grouping courses together. Spoiler, it’s great for analysing data for reporting so you’ll look like a superstar!

  • Sort By - defaulting to Last Updated, change this to Title to see your course in alphabetical order from A to Z.
