If you missed the first of the three reports on our to-do list, you can catch up here.

Let's crack on with the next scenario – we want to check that the people who are in Edinburgh Deli have the right courses assigned. Using the Organisation Structure, you can quickly get to any location and see who’s there, what attributes have been assigned to that location and how many courses each person has been given:

This is great for sense checking, so now let’s use Report Builder to get a little more detail and make some key decisions (because that’s what it’s for!)

You know the drill! Create a new report:

You’ve been through a few of these next steps already in our locations-based scenario, so we’ll up the pace a bit…

Use Manage Columns to pick your people-based data from the User section and then make sure the columns are in the order that you need. For this report we’ve picked:

  • Username

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Joining Date

  • Job Description

  • Profile Description

  • User Attributes

Then we added a filter on Location Name, filtered on Include if Text Contains “Edinburgh Deli” before pressing Save. Here’s the result:

You can see it matches the same 5 people we could see in the Organisation Structure, and now we can do something with that data. Notice that none of the people in this location have any learner attributes.

For example, Lesley has her performance review later this week and we’re going to be talking about getting her ready for a supervisor role. This means she’ll need to start working her way through the Upskill People Managing People programme, and for that she’s going to need the “Management courses” learner attribute.

So you can now see how Report Builder can help you prepare for those great manager moments where you help your people grow into the best versions of themselves.
