Here’s a familiar scenario for you. You’re responsible for managing a team and Josh has come to you saying that he can’t do his learning because he can’t log in, he’s forgotten his password!
Let’s help Josh get logged back in and learning.
From your Learners menu, use the search box to find the learner’s name, select More and then pick Reset Password:
Resetting someone’s password is very straightforward, all they need is a valid email address. If the learning platform doesn’t have one then you’ll see this message:
No email address – no password reset, it’s that simple. Pick Edit, update the email address and Save changes.
“But not everyone in the business has an email address” I hear you say! Well, there is a way around that, if you really cannot use a personal email address. If your location has a generic email address that can receive an email, example [email protected] then you can add an alias like this: [email protected]. This keeps the email address unique (which is critical) and gives you the ability to receive a password reset email for an individual.
Okay, so you’ve got a valid email address, you’ll see this message instead:
Just press Send email and Josh now has 60 minutes to use the link sent to him by email. If, for whatever reason, this isn’t possible then just repeat the process and send another email. Make sure that the recipient marks us as a safe sender, if you can’t find the email then it’s most likely in your spam/junk email folder so check there first.
All Josh has to do is press Reset Password:
This will take him straight into the learning platform where he can enter a new, memorable, password and then log in as normal:
